I agree with her when she says "...as centuries go on and the sexes become more nearly merged on account of their resemblances." It can't be so long before we can dress and be 'read' without fear of ridicule, even less arrest. Of course the corollary of this is that as the genders merge, transvestism will disappear and we shall be- come as aging group of curiosities amongst the pantsvestites.
Repeating that the book is about marriage of a man to a woman, each being attracted to their respective homosexual partners, I still believe that it could prove rewarding to the transvestite of today to taste the social climate of disapprobation of half a century ago.
